The Luxembourg gardens in Paris belong to the “Palais du Luxembourg” which houses the French senate. This is probably also the reason why it is one of the best well kept public green spaces in this metropolis. It is a place loved by tourists as well as Parisians. They are easy to distinguish, the former often armed with selfy-sticks, the latter enjoying the tennis courts, petanque area’s or chess tables. The parc lies in Paris’ sixth arrondissement. As a result, many of it’s visitors are intellectuals, Sorbonne students or elderly seeking a little bit of French grandeur from times gone by.
